Found the code errors! Removing bits one line at a time solved one error - the js-menu does not like Transitional 4.01, but likes 4.0 - and W3C Validate Service found the rest. Now I just have to suss out why the js-code works flawlessly in FireFox but not in IE (besides the obvious answer).

Reading Frog's fic in the few off moments I have. Dearie, you do have a gift.

Until twenty minutes ago, the js menu displayed on the pages and worked. Now... *pulls out hair*. Best of all, I can't remember what exactly I did since I've been interrupted a half-dozen times. Okay, back away from the code, shut the programs...

Tons of sirens last night. Probable cause for such a loud night - idiot drivers. The roads have been dry for a couple weeks and it rained Sunday. Do people think, adjust their speed accordingly? You gotta be kidding. I heard more squealing tires, and at least two crashes, in the two hours I sat on the porch than I've heard in a long time.

With - hopefully - cooler temps, maybe I can get into the home office and start cleaning up, rebuilding and generally reaquainting myself with MM and BU. Geez I hope so.

I was working on the company site tonight. Was, until Mr. Squirmy did a puke in his bed. Ugh! I cannot stand puke. Gimme pee everywhere, diarrhea, anything but puke.

Starting to branch into some PHP scripting. Not writing it but using a pre-made script. Works nice but it's looking like PHP is not overly compatible with the javascript in use on the site. More reading and experimentation is required. There is another navigation script I can use, if I have to, or I could do a complete overhaul and go back to frames. I don't care what others say, I like frames. They're easy, convenient and make updating a breeze.

Just a few short weeks until the new seasons begin for House, NCIS, CSI and ER. I'll start hitting the network sites to see what new shows are coming up, but I don't hold much hope there will be much I'd class as watchable. Anything remotely 'reality' based is not worth wasting my time on.

Ya know what? I like First Time fics, I like (w)angst (though, for this one, it really depends on the author and writing style), and while I like a good story, I'm still at heart a Harlequin girl. Oh yeah, and I'm done denying it.

As addictions go, this one is healthier than some of my others. I really, really need to get BU upgraded and WinMX fired up. Is there a twelve-step program for reading? Saturday

I am reading Frog's counter fic in between Sentinel stories and laundry. And I'll probably have weird dreams of Ken, Jim, Farf and Blair doing their laundry and fucking in my basement. Yeah, knowing my farked up brain, that's exactly what I'll be dreaming about tonight.

When looking for a new fandom to explore, it helps to start with authors who you know (and enjoy) from other fandoms. Yeah, I know that's pretty much a 'DUH' statement, but I'm amazed how often I don't follow it. And, it explains why I came across an entry (May 2004?) stating problems with the Gibbs/Dinozzo pairing... which, now, I'm wild (okay, practically rabid) about.

M&D's 'puter is nestled into its new home. Lab-boy's 'puter is pretty much ready to go (though the TV-tuner is still an issue). That'll be two 'puters out of the room. Then I can work on stripping, sorting, storing and rebuilding. But not until the temperature drops. Had three 'puters running last night and was seriously worried about one of them going thermal. Window open and fan going help, somewhat, but there's no way I'm touching 'puter guts with sweat-slicked hands. In my books, that's asking for trouble.

When M&D's e-mail finally finished downloading (did I mention how much I HATE dial-up?) one subject line caught my attention. Seems my cousin has remarried and "here are some pictures." Really? Why did Mom never mention John had divorced? Asked her today and... "oh, his wife decided she was a lesbian." Wow, that one came right outta far left field. And no, I didn't correct Mom's phrasing - at her age there's no point.

Grannie, hubby's, is in the hospital. Primary diagnosis is kidney stones, with secondary bronchitis and developing shingles. Nothing life-threatening but geez, nothing like doing a bunch of crap all at once.

O.o There's a Schu/Yoji com on LJ. Damn, the things you find when you're bored! And just so I can find it again, here.

< Pissed off mode ON >

I HATE DIAL-UP!! An hour and counting to download M&D's e-mail. A fucking HOUR PLUS for e-mail! Christ, I'll be glad when they get high-speed.

And, wouldn't you know it, just as I was set to ram an ice pick into a set of tires, the asshole moved his truck. Gee, thanks for moving it you dog-shit-eating-piece-of-useless-trash, it's only been parked in front of my house for a week!

Riddle me this - why, and how!, is there a virus on Lab-boy's computer at this stage?

Installed programs so far are XP (duh), all XP updates, Zone Alarm, Thunderbird, Firefox (flash - installed; acroreader - installed; shockwave - installed; quicktime - downloaded, not installed; java runtime - downloaded, not installed; WMP - downloaded, not installed) and AVG.

Where did this loverly ElKern come from? I haven't done anything, or gone anywhere else, but download and install what's listed above. These are all supposed to be respectable sites and programs, virus-free. I'm really pissed over this.

Lab-boy's 'puter is coming together nicely. First time I've done an XP install and, I must say, it's pretty damn easy. Updating is taking forever and that might be all I can get done tonight. *wonders how long SP2 takes to download*

The TV/vid card may pose a problem. E-mailed Lab-boy's brother for info on where to find the missing part/software and his closing comment was not encouraging. He followed installation/set-up to the letter and never could get the sucker to work. Oh, thanks a bunch. I'll need more than luck, I'll need a farking miracle!
